Senior Year

*Originally published 9/17/14*

I’m officially a senior! I am in my third week of my senior year and its going pretty well! I have an abbreviated schedule again and this time it was just first period so my day began at 8:10 every day, but I had to switch to starting at 9:00 because I just needed more sleep. Two weeks ago I got my license too! My town is a football town and the seniors lead the chants at the games and I am one of those seniors. This time last year I only had 4 classes a day and still would miss those, and I only made it to a handful of games, and had to sit for most of it, but this year is so much better!

I missed one day 2 weeks ago because my Bartonella was acting up and my thyroid got so swollen I could not turn my head, and last week I had to sleep in a little because I keep getting mouth ulcers that are very painful and interrupt everything, including sleep. Other than that I have been okay.

I exercise pretty much every day, not too strenuous because I don’t want a relapse but enough to know its doing something. This time last year I could barely make it up the stairs at school without getting too tired and having to go home and sleep.

I’ve been having stomach issues for the past few months and we still can’t get it under control. I take 3 probiotics a day and a fiber supplement but whenever I eat anything my stomach hurts for hours after. It’s very frustrating.

Two Wednesdays ago, I had an LLMD appointment. My appointment went okay. She put me back on Doxy and I am continuing to take Clindamycin. She’s hoping that we can take me off of all antibiotics soon! I absolutely love my doctor! I’ve been going to her for a year now and I am so thankful that we found her when we did. I know that she is going to get me into remission and help me stay there for a long time. I would highly recommend her practice to anyone with Chronic Lyme with 100% confidence! Me last year, compared to me this year is unreal.

Recently I have teamed up with Peer Spring to make a change for Lyme sufferers everywhere! Please visit my page and see what you can do to help! WE will be the change!

Also, I am proud to announce that my friend Kerry and I have come up with a Lyme PSA and through the help of my cousin Carly, who edited it, and everyone in it, it is finally finished! Kerry and I came up with the idea about a year ago and we are so grateful to all who took part in it and who have shared it with us! Please watch it and share it! All of the teens in the video are suffering from Chronic Lyme. These children, and myself included, should be out enjoying adolescence, not stuck in bed in agonizing pain all day, every day. We are the #teensbitingback and these are our stories.
